I hope this finds you well. I’m reaching out to see if you might be open to having me as a guest on your podcast.

I’m the author of Dolls Beyond Play: The Cultural Significance of Dolls—a 489-page ethnographic study that explores dolls not as mere toys, but as mirrors of identity, beauty, resistance, and memory. The book weaves together cultural history, psychology, gender studies, and personal narrative to uncover the profound role dolls play across time and culture.

This project has been years in the making and has already received endorsements from the United Federation of Doll Clubs, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Virtual Doll Convention. I’m especially honored that the foreword was written by Alan Scott Pate, the world’s leading scholar of Japanese dolls.

I’d love the opportunity to talk with you and your audience about the research, stories, and surprising cultural insights uncovered in the process of writing this book—from sacred ritual figures and fashion dolls to queer collectors and digital avatars. Whether your listeners are curious about material culture, nostalgia, identity, or art, I believe there’s a rich conversation to be had.

If this sounds like a good fit, I’d be delighted to send you a complimentary copy of the book.

Warmly,
Erick DuPree
