Doll Stories: A Love Letter to the Dolls That Touched Our Lives
Has a doll ever meant something special to you?
Share your story with us — by video, audio, or written words we can share on the podcast.
Because sometimes, one doll can change everything.
What if I told you that dolls aren’t just toys… they’re storytellers?
They hold memories.
They carry our dreams.
They remind us of people we’ve loved, places we’ve been, and parts of ourselves we might have forgotten.
And I should know — because I never thought I’d be part of the doll world.
I wasn’t a doll collector. I didn’t have shelves full of pristine boxes or cabinets lined with collectibles.
But then, I saw the dolls of Byron Lars—and something in me lit up. ✨
There was something in his dolls… the fashion, the beauty, the soul.
These were dolls like I had never seen before.
Black dolls that were fashionable.
Black dolls that showcased deep, radiant complexions I had never seen in the fashion doll world.
Black dolls that had style, class, and a presence that spoke to me like no other doll ever had.
They looked like women I knew.
They looked like me.
And in that moment, everything changed.
That single encounter shifted the trajectory of my life.
It led me to co-create the first plus-size fashion dolls in history — Big Beautiful Dolls™.
It led me to co-host two amazing doll podcasts.
And eventually, to create my own show, The Dollpreneur™ Podcast, where I now celebrate the creatives behind the dolls.
And now?
It’s led me to this moment — where I want to hear your story.
🧡 Doll Stories is a new campaign and heartfelt series that invites people from all walks of life — whether you’re a collector, a creator, or someone who just had one unforgettable doll — to share your story.
This isn’t about how many dolls you own.
It’s about the meaning behind the one that stayed with you.
Maybe it was:
-
A gift from someone who’s no longer here
-
A doll that comforted you during a hard year
-
A sculpt that sparked your imagination or changed how you saw yourself
Whatever your story is — I believe it deserves to be heard.

They sit in our hearts.
